Recipe: Jamu Anti-Inflammatory Drink

Writer: kamahealthkamahealth

Updated: 7 days ago

I first experienced Jamu when a friend offered me some from a thermos on a cold winter's day in the Adelaide Hills where we live. It was warming and full-bodied and really gave me a pep up! I have found a few recipes and mashed them together to make this version...

Jamu

Ingredients:

125g fresh tumeric, washed and sliced thinly

20g fresh ginger, washed and sliced thinly - you can add more if you want a real kick!

4 cups of coconut water or water

Pinch black pepper

2 Tb honey/sweetener

Juice of 1 lemon

Place first 4 ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Add to saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes

Strain mixture through fine sieve or similar

Add 2 tablespoons of honey and juice of 1 lemon

Enjoy warm or cool - a shot a day keeps the ...... away!

Jamu can help with:

Pain relief

Digestive issues

Support with inflammatory conditions

Enjoy!!
